Season / Summer;;

The Sun is beating generously down on Colera's inhabitants. This mood is definately the perfect time for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and other sports. There are some races at the Track, too, so don't miss those! It doesn't seem rain will come anytime soon, this Summer is becoming a long drought. However, we might get a little drizzle in a week or so, that's a relief. But for now, the bare Earth is cracking, plants and leaves shriveling from the heat, and water in the River and Lake evaporating. This might prove to be the worst Summer in Colera City's history. Breeding time might end sometime soon, but dopn't let that discourage you from giving your partner the night out for a little romance.

Plot;;

It is 2008 in Colera City, everything seems normal. Children playing hopscotch, teenagers spending every penny in the Mall, parents arguing over nothing. Yes, this city is quite normal. Or was it? People had reported seeing large, erect standing dogs at night, things much more massive than planes flying in the night sky, and many had noted that something had broken into their house, but taken nothing. Was this just regular play by teenagers in costumes, or maybe new Military planes that were being flight tested? Or, was it something that was on a whole new level? People are still suspicious, suspecting anything besides their own kind. Police and Animal Control are making a habit out of driving through the city every night to keep watch for anything out of the ordinary. Can you keep yourself concealed from the Humans and keep them thinking you are the same thing they are? Or will you be captured by Man kind? Only time will tell.... Welcome to Colera City.

A quiet sigh, then Embry snapped back to attention. Nice't meet ya, Bran. His timbre held more curiousity now, rather than fear. Embry sat on his haunches slowly, wrinkling his nose at an ugly odor that shouldn't be there. Eh, Cerebrus much? Embry asked dully, eyeing Bran.

Bran shook his head amusedly. "I think it comes mainly from the fact that one kept attacking me... Nasty, brutish thing. Afraid of fire though, it seems. Sorry that it smells so bad... Suppose I'll have to bathe when I get home, eh?"

Embry laughed. Curs, the whole lot of'em. An eyebrow raised at the mention of afraid of fire. Fire? Some Cerebrus. And it doesn't smell particularly pungent, just-- A word... A word...-- odd.

Bran nodded once again, laughing quietly. "You speak the truth, Mr. Walsh. And a single bit of fire and the bloody beast fled like a coward. And the thing does smell strange... Too canine, and yet too foreign. Thought I was easy prey when he first met me, then realized that even a comparatively scrawny creature can cause some damage."

They're c**ky mongrels, aright. Embry nodded in agreement. He wondered why he was sudden friendly to a guy he was accidentaly glaring at a while ago. I suppose it's that wolfish behaviour that yearns for their own kind to talk to. Such an odd behaviour. He leaned left to get a look past Bran. Several Huumans were gawking at the two big dogs seeming to have a friendly conversation. Embry cleared his throat and said in a hushed vocal, Gettin' a pinch too many stares..

Bran nodded, casting a sideways glance at the humans while still preventing them from seeing his eyes. He spoke quietly to Embry. "Yeah, and we really don't want them to realize what we are... My family's had problems with that in the past."
With that, Bran moved into the shadowed part of the alley, hidden from the relatively poor eyes of humans.

Embry's legs laucnshed him backwards into the black shadows, his white markings now blackened once more. A question that Embry hoped wouldn't bother Bran pooped out of his mouth. Who was your family? He grimaced in compete darkness, he regretted having asked that, because something might have happened to his Family. Embry prayed he wasn't being rude in Bran's eyes. He hated that.

Bran laughed quietly, "I see you're afraid you hit a sore spot--never fear, it's perfectly all right. In fact, I cannot swear that it even happened. Humans fear their own mortality, and see us as the symbol of that. I've heard my brother suffered for it, years ago now. Never had proof, but we've not heard from him since. They say the same may have happened to my father--but that was when I was just a pup, and my mother never told me the whole tale."

Embry both heard and listened to Bran's short story. He lowered his head slightly in sort of an apologetic way, but said nothing. He heard a noise near the mouth of the alley and voice calling, "who's there?" repeatedly. Embry's eye lids half closed in annoyance, then he looked at Bran. His eyes shifted numerous times from Bran to the roof top as a signal, ''let's get out of here'' type thing. Embry lept silently to the roof, then waited for Bran, not entirely wanting to leave his company, het also wanting to ditch the Humans.

Bran glanced around, ears twitching at the sound of the human's voice, and nodded, taking a single smooth, sweeping leap to clear the ground and land on the roof beside the other Barghest. He watched the human with amusement, thinking about how the human's entire demeanor would change should it realize what was watching it from above. He then looked to the younger Barghest, waiting for him to determine their next course of action.

Embry had the 'shifty shifty' eyes as he looked at the Human and back at Bran. Embry swerved around on his heels, and started at a quick jog in the direction an alley that he was quite familiar with. He knew it was a place no Human dared come, thanks to "the big black and white doggie" that growls at anyone that chooses to come near. He swung around again, to see if Bran had started to catch up.

Briefly distracted by a sudden movement from the human, Bran nearly missed the cue to follow, but looked up in time to see a flash of white fur as Embry departed. Bran's limbs moved quickly to follow, and he gained some ground, finally catching up when Embry paused to check his progress.

Embry padded on when he saw Bran catching up, and finally he made it to the alley. He hopped from the roof with a slight grunt as the weight of his body his the ground.As soon as his pads touched the concrete, he was in Human form again. He turned to Bran, nodded, then said, Was nice talkin' with ya, I'll be around, eh? He said and with that, he turned and walked into the stree. -- Just a normal human being that hadn't just turned into a dog and was having a coversation with another. Just another odrinary person.. Sadly, that's what Humans thought.

He waited for Embry to leave before changing his own form and heading quietly home, rather astonished that there was another Barghest in Colera.
